OAK BROOK, Illinois – Elkay, an American-owned and operated manufacturer of drinking fountains and bottling filling stations is proud to announce the winners of our Lanark/Savanna scholarship program. Josi Anderson, daughter of Jerry Anderson and Brooke Olberding, daughter of Scott Olberding, both demonstrated excellent insight in their winnings essays about what leadership means to them and how they practice leadership themselves.

Josi and Brooke each viewed a leader as an individual who provided examples for others to emulate. Josi discovered leadership traits within herself at an afterschool program in Indiana where she volunteered. Brooke, who also showed leadership in the classroom, assisted students at her school to break down communication barriers between native English speakers and non-native English speakers. Each of these remarkable essays captured leadership traits portrayed by Josi and Brooke’s willingness to assist their community resonated with one of Elkay’s Core Values, our strength is in our people.

“Education has always been something Elkay has encouraged among everyone here. Whether it be among employees or their children.” Steve Wright, Savana’s Plant Manager began. “We have been providing this scholarship for many years now and it is exciting to be able to help others with their education.”
