SAVANNA — RiverReader spoke with Erika Tubbs, from The Answer Fitness Center, on August 8th, to talk about the upcoming Open Stage Talent Show that is being held at the Savanna Museum and Historical Society. The event will feature performances from children ages 3 to 13, and will range anywhere from singing, to poetry readings, to dancing, to playing musical instruments! Various Savanna businesses and groups are sponsoring the event, including The Savanna Public Library, The Answer Fitness Center, and many others!
Erika brought her daughter, Ella, to an open mic night, a while back, to show her own talent, and brought the idea up to Juliene McCormick, who does a lot of work with the Savanna Museum and Historical Society. Juliene asked Erika to organize this event, and it is coming together splendidly! Every week, the Savanna Public Library has a story reading time for younger kids and older kids. Tubbs asked the library to get involved by having their weekly story time at the Museum on the day of the show, starting out by reading stories to the kids, with many local businesses sponsoring various events and food.
