POLO, IL — In their 5th consecutive Regionals Championship, Eastland IHSA Division 1A volleyball girls beat Earlville, last night at Ashton Franklin Center, October 25th, to earn a Regionals victory that will have them playing Durand on Monday, October 29th, in Polo. Polo Marcos to Visit EPC Wildcatz, at Lanark

LANARK — The EPC Wildcatz are scheduled to host the Polo Marcos for a Varsity-only, non-conference game, this coming Friday, October 19. There will be no fresh-soph game. The game is to begin at 7 p.m. The Catz are undefeated, while the Marcos are currently 5-3, having lost to Milledgeville, River Ridge and Stockton. Fire Destroys Polo Business

Polo — Dambman Lawn Mower Hospital was destroyed, Monday morning, in a fire that broke out just before 11 a.m. The fire on S. Congress Street is believed to have been accidental, but the Polo Fire Department says the cause of the fire is unknown. Thankfully, no one was hurt. After an investigation by the state fire marshal, it was determined that the fire was caused when an employee was working with a grinding machine. Sparks flew, and the building caught on fire as a result. Officials believe that the fire was accidental in nature. Dorothy A. Libberton December 26, 1932 – July 16, 2017 DOROTHY A. LIBBERTON, 84, of Sauk Valley Senior Living and Rehabilitation Center, Rock Falls, IL died Sunday, July 16, 2017, at the Center. Dorothy was born December 26, 1932, in Lima Township, IL, to John W. and Inez E. (Cheeseman) Hose. She was educated in the Polo grade schools and was a graduate of Polo High School in Polo, IL. Dorothy was most recently employed by Sta-Rite Industries and Walgreens in Delavan, WI. She enjoyed traveling, reading, and crocheting. Survivors include one daughter, Debra (Ed) Pruis of Morrison, IL; one son, Michael (Sharyn) Whitmer of Mesa, AZ; three grandchildren, Matthew (Mary) Barta, Amy (Jared) DiLalla, and Jason Whitmer; two step grandchildren, Jill (Mitch) Tegeler and Brad (Kate) Pruis; eight great grandchildren, Madalyn and Molly Barta, Isabella and Jackson Tegeler, Ethan and Ava Pruis, Hailey and Makenzie Whitmer and one sister, Mary Lang of Savanna, IL.
