Thomson Village Board Approves Liquor, Burning, Encroachment Ordinance

By Michael Miller, Savanna The Thomson Village Board approved several ordinances at the board’s regular meeting on Monday, September 10th, at Village Hall. THOMSON — The board approved changes to the current liquor ordinance.  Those changes included defining the term “premises” more precisely, and the right to waive a liquor license fee for a charitable organization. Tax Tip 2018-146 The IRS is alerting certain veterans that they may be due a credit or refund. This is a result of the Combat-Injured Veterans Tax Fairness Act passed in 2016. It affects veterans who received disability severance payments after January 17, 1991, and included that payment as income.
