He was born on August 13, 1946 in Oregon, IL to Jack and Ruth (Horton) Ludwick. Frank was a retired truck driver. Survivors include his 6 Children: Bill (Cindy) Jacobs, Chip (Kim) Munroe, Dan (Annie) Munroe, Sarah (Jeramie) Benson, Thaddeus Ludwick, and Charity (Brian) Miller; 8 Grandchildren: Matthew Hoffman, Ashley Burrington, Kelly Jacobs, Jessika Beasley, Layla Benson, Tristan Benson, Brice Miller, and Leyna Miller; 7 Great-Grandchildren: Hayson, Weston, Gabby, Korbin, Elizabeth, Brooklyn, Mikey, and one on the way, 8 sisters and 4 brothers. He is preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother, 3 sisters, and second wife Janice Jacobs Ludwick. LaVerne Karl Janicke — October 9, 1932 – December 7, 2017 LaVerne Karl Janicke, 85, of Forreston, died Thursday, December 7, 2017 at Polo Rehabilitation & Health Care Center. LaVerne was born October 9, 1932 in Freeport, the son of John A. and Mabel M. (Rosenstiel) Janicke. He married Patricia Ann Moyer February 20, 1954 in Martintown, Wisconsin. Mrs. Janicke died February 13, 1984. LaVerne was a semi-truck driver for 50 years. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and going to Casinos. He was a former member of the Freeport Eagles Club and MooseLodge. Surviving are five sons, Karl (Belinda) Janicke of Freeport, Kenny (Leslie) Janicke of Helotes, Texas, Kevin Janicke of Naperville, Keith Janicke of Chicago, and Kirk (Angie) Janicke of Forreston; two daughters, Kathy Janicke of Forreston, and Kim (Clifford Gilbert Jr.) Janicke of Mt. Morris; two sisters, Leona Grebner of Lena, and Ethel Miller of Rockford. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. LaVerne was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Janicke; son, Brian; brother, Arthur; four sisters, Esther, Delores, Dorothy, and Shirley;and great-grandson, Kristian. Robert C. Brinkmeier — May 27, 1942 – December 6, 2017 Robert C. Brinkmeier, age 75 of Savanna, IL, formerly of Freeport, IL, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at FHN Memorial Hospital in Freeport. He was born May 27, 1942; the son of the late Melvin and Edna (Heidenreich) Brinkmeier. He married Sharon Schulthess in 1967 He had worked for Modern Plating in Freeport his whole life. He enjoyed bowling, racing, and playing bingo, which was his favorite. He enjoyed spending time with his family especially watching his grandchildren’s sports and his dog, Ottie. He is survived by his sons, Todd (Michelle) Brinkmeier of Freeport and John Brinkmeier of Freeport; daughters, Heidi (Dan Champion) Barry of Freeport and Kelly (Ronald) Smith of Freeport; grandchildren, Michael Brinkmeier, Joseph Brinkmeier, Sabrina Barry, Haley Brinkmeier, Joshua Smith, Amber Smith, Marshall Smith, and Joseph Smith; Significant other, Janice Boyer of Freeport; former wife, Sharon Barthel of Freeport; brother, Ronnie (Marlene) Brinkmeier of Beloit, WI; and sister, Donna Moyer of Pearl City. Marilyn J. Ludwig — July 29, 1934 – December 5, 2017 Marilyn J. Ludwig, 83, of Forreston, died Tuesday December 5, 2017 at Parkview Home in Freeport. She was born July 29, 1934 in Freeport, IL, the daughter of LeRoy and Susan (Ratmeyer) Folkerts. She married Herman J. Ludwig August 16, 1953 in Forreston, IL; he died July 22, 1989. Marilyn was a 1952 Forreston High School graduate, and attended Central College. She and Herman farmed in the Haldane area. She was a very active member of Forreston Reformed Church and also a member of the Reformed Church Women’s Ministries. She enjoyed gardening and sewing. Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Joan (Steve) Culver of Polo, IL; her son, Gerald (Amy Kaiser) Ludwig of Polo, IL; brother, Davis (Eunice) Folkerts; two sisters-in-law, Judy Folkerts of Forreston, IL and Priscilla Ludwig of Lanark, IL; six grandchildren, Josh, Jessica, Jennifer, Sara, Amanda, and Amber; eight great-grandchildren (with one expecting); and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother Lloyd; and an infant daughter Carol Ann.  Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M. Carolyn Armour, 83, of Forreston, died Tuesday November 28, 2017 in her home. Carolyn was born October 17, 1934 in Freeport, the daughter of George A. and Iva R. (Moring) Manus. She married Richard L. Armour, to this union they were blessed with five children. She then married Darrow W. Moats. Mr. Moats passed away in 2008. She was a member of Prairie Dell Presbyterian Church. Carolyn was very artistic and skilled at designing. She alongside her husband, Richard, farmed in the Stillman Valley area for many years. Surviving are sons, Gary L. Armour of Rockford; four daughters, Cynthia (Richard) Chudoba of Chana, Sherry (Curt) Werckle of Stillman Valley, Christy (Paul) Klikno of Rockford, and Lana (Scott) Mattson of Huntley; sister, Lanita (Gene) Gesie of Dubuque, Iowa; four grandchildren, Brandi (Jeremy) Chudoba-Shiroda, Mindy (Matt) Chudoba-Kopald, T.J. Myelle, and Bethany Myelle; and five great-grandchildren, Aidan, Asher, Archie, Addie, and Ella. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Memorial services will be 12:00 P.M.
