Possession of Hypodermic Syringe and Warrant Arrest

On 10/25/2018 at approximately 1:52 PM, Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 4,000 block of North Leaf River Road.  After investigation Deputies placed the driver, Christopher Evans age 29 of Dixon, under arrest for a Failure to Appear Ogle County warrant for Criminal Trespass, a FTA Lee County warrant, and Violation of the Hypodermic Syringe and Needle Act.  Evans was also issued a citation for No Front Registration Plate.  The passenger, Adam Koehler age 35 of Dixon, was also placed under arrest for a FTA Lee County warrant.  Evans and Koehler were both transported to the Ogle County Jail where they were held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrests

On 10-25-18 the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County Warrants:

  • Franklyn X Hopson, age 33 of Aurora for Driving Under the Influence. Hopson did not post the $5,000 10% bond and remains in the Ogle County Jail. Hopson will appear in court on 10-26-18 at 1:00 pm.
  • Christopher S Evans, age 29 of Dixon for Failure to Appear with a Full Cash Bond of $603.  Evans will appear in court on 10-26-18 at 1:00 pm.

Disorderly Conduct Arrest

On the afternoon of 10/23/18, the Ogle County State’s Attorney’s Office received a phone call in which the caller made threatening statements regarding employees of the Judicial Center, specifically the State’s Attorney’s Office and Judges. Additional security measures where enacted on the morning of 10/24/18  until the caller could be identified and located. At approx. 9:35 am, Jason L. Churchill, age 50 of Mount Morris, was taken into custody. Churchill was subsequently arrested for Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrest

On 10-24-18 Alyssa D Poff, age 26 of Polo was arrested for an outstanding Ogle County Warrant for No Valid Registration.   Poff posted the $5,000 10% bond and was released with a court date of  11-16-18 at 9:00 am.

Warrant Arrest

On 10-24-18 Andrew Swift, age 32 of Mt Morris was arrested on an outstanding Failure to Appear Warrant. Swift did not post the $4,460 Full Cash Bond and will appear in court on 10-25-18 at 1:00 pm.

No Valid Drivers License

On 10/22/18 at approximately 1846 hours, Deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Illinois Rt 72 and Kishwaukee Rd. After further investigation Marcio Hernandez, age 48 of Rockford, was placed under arrest for No Valid Drivers License. Hernandez was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrests

On 10/23/18 the following were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:

  • Gary Adams, age 58, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Adams has a bond of $1,750. Adams could not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County jail. Adams will return to court on 10/26/18 at 9:00 am.
  • Thomas Stiles, age 26, for Criminal Damage/ Goverment Prop/ <$500. Stiles has a bond of $5,000/10%. Stiles could not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Stiles will return to court on 11/26/18 at 1:00pm.
  • Malissa Lindquist , age 46, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Lindquist has a bond of $2,072. Lindquist could not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Lindquist will return to court on 10/26/18 at 9:00am.
  • Don Woods, age 24, of Davis for Failure to Appear. Woods has a bond of $400. Woods was not able to post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Woods will go back to court on 10/26/18 at 9:00am.

Driving While License Suspended

On 10-23-18 at 2108 hours following a traffic stop on I88 at mile marker 75, Deputies arrested Matthew McCullough, age 27, of Rock Falls Illinois for an outstanding arrest warrant from Whiteside County and for driving while license suspended.  McCullough also received citations for no insurance, possession of cannabis and drug equipment.  McCullough was transported to the Ogle County Jail and held in liue of bond.

Single Vehicle Accident

On 10-22-18 at approximately 1:10 am, Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Mt Morris Fire and EMS were dispatched to a single vehicle accident at the intersection of Cedar Road and Apple Road. After an investigation it was learned that John C Rocheleau, age 60 of Dakota failed to stop at the intersection and struck a ditch embankment. Rocheleau was issued a citation for Improper Lane Usage and Failure to Wear Seatbelt. Rocheleau was transported the FHN Hospital for non life threatening injuries.

Warrant Arrest

On 10/22/18 the following were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrant:

  • Debbie Tripp, age 58, of Rockford for Driving while License suspended warrant. Tripp had a bond of $3,000/10%. Tripp did post the $3,000/10% bond. Tripp will return to court on 11/09/18 at 9:00am. Tripp was also released from the Ogle County jail.
  • Michael Donaldson, age 22, of Chicago for Obstructing ID warrant. Donaldson had a bond of $3,000/10%. Donaldson was given a recog and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Donaldson will return for court on 11/16/18 at 9:00 am.

No Valid Drivers License

On 10/22/18 at approximately 1846 hours, Deputies initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Illinois Rt 72 and Kishwaukee Rd.   • Matthew Gabbard, age 30, of Dixon was arrested for a Failure to Appear Warrant. Gabbard had a bond of $557.00 Full Cash Bond. Gabbard could not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Gabbard’s next court date is 11/19/18 at 1300 hours.
  • Steven M. Rozakis, age 36, of Oregon was arrested for a Petition to Revoke Warrant. Rozakis had a bond of $25,000/10%.Rozakis could not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Rozakis’s next court date is 11/19/18 at 1300 hours.

Warrant Arrest

The following were arrest on 10/17/18 for Ogle County Outstanding Warrants:

  • Kolby Morningstar, age 19, of Sycamore was arrested for a Battery Warrant. Morningstar had a bond of $10,000/10%. Morningstar could not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Morningstar’s next court date is 11/13/18 at 9:00 am
  • Austin Bettner, age 18, of Oregon for a Speeding Warrant. Bettne had a bond of $2000/10%. Bettner did post the bond of $2000/10%. Bettner was released from the Ogle County Jail. Bettner will have to return for court on 11/09/18 at 9:00 am.

Truck Vs Combine Crash

On 10-17-18 at about 1800 hours Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Illinois Rte 72 for a report of a pickup truck vs a Combine.  It was learned that a 2006 Dodge truck driven by Joathan Young 37 of Stillman Valley was traveling east on Il Rte 72 when he failed to reduce his speed causing him to hit the rear of a CASE Combine driven by Paul Gibson 53 of Stillman Valley.  Young was extricated by Fire and EMS and transported to Swedish American Hospital for minor injuries. Deputies were assisted on scene by LSR Fire, Stillman Fire, LifeLine, North Park Fire and Maggios Wrecker. The accident remains under investigation.

Warrant Arrest

  • Corey Jones, age 45, of Freeport was arrested for Violate Sex Offender Registration and Failure to Appear Violate Sex Offender Registration. Jones had a bond of $25,000/10% and $10,000/10%. Jones could not post bond and will remain in the Ogle County Jail. Jones’s next court date is 10/18/18 at 1300 hours

Warrant Arrest

On 10-16-18 Nicholas J Schleicher, age 35 of Malta was arrested for an oustanding Ogle County Warrant for Probation Violation. Schleicher did not post the $100,000 10% bond and will appear in court on 11-13-18 at 10:45 am.

Hit and Run Accident

On 10-16-18 at approximately 12:58 pm, Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a hit and run accident in the 2000 block of N Rt 251. The offending vehicle was located shortly thereafter in the Davis Junction area and stopped. The driver William Randles, age 44 of Oswego was arrested for Possession of Controlled Substance, Driving Under the Influence and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident. Randles was also cited for Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident, Expired Registration, Illegal Transportation of Alcohol and Operating an Uninsured Vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle, Kenneth Steen age 66 of Rockford, complained of minor injuries and was released from the scene.

Driving While License Suspended

On 10-15-18 at approximately 4:08 pm, Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 12,000 block of W Haldane Rd. After investigation Deputies placed Benjamin Seals, age 39 of Forreston under arrest for Driving While License Revoked. Seals was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.

Warrant Arrests

On 10-15-18 the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County Warrants:

  • Jessinia F Loyola, age 27 of Rockford for No Driver’s License. Loyola posted the $2,000 10% bond and was released. Loyola will appear in court on 11-02-18 at 9:00 am.
  • Joseph A Myers, age 21 of Davis Junction for Failure to Appear. Myers posted the $323 Full Cash Bond and was released with no further court date needed.
  • Jose G Sanchez-Teoquiz, age 36 of South Elgin for Petition to Revoke. The $1,500 10% bond was posted.  Jose will appear in court on 11-02-18 at 9:00 am.

Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol

On October 14, 2018 at 4:20 am the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office and the Rochelle ambulance responded to a single vehicle accident with injuries in front of 6377 S. Brooklyn rd. The driver of the vehicle Jared A. Scarbrough, age 18, of Creston was treated and released at the scene. After a further investigation Scarbrough was arrested for Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol as a minor and Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. Scarbrough was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was given an I-bond and a November court date.

  • Lee Curry, age 66, of Minneapolis, Minnesota for Failure to Appear. Curry was given a $1,000 recog. Curry will return to court on 12/31/18 at 9:00 am.
  • Badreddine Boutira, age 33, of Miami, Florida, for Over registrated weight. Boutira had a bond of  $100. Boutira did post the bond of $100 and was released from the Ogle County Jail. Boutira will return to court on 10-29-18 at 9:00 am.
  • Jonathan Carrillo, age 22, of Dekalb IL, for FTA and Driving While License Suspended. Carrillo had a bond of $633 full cash and $1,500 /10% bond. Carrillo will return to court on 10-15-18 at 1300 hours.

Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol

On October 12, 2018 at 4:58am Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies Responded to the Area of Stone Hill rd and Brick rd for an abondoned vehicle in the roadway. A blue Kia Rio was located in front of 29 North Stone Hill road crossing both lanes of traffic. After a further investiagtaion William D. Paul, age 19, of Chana was arrested for Unlawful consumption of alcohol as a minor, improper parking on roadway, and he was issued a civil ciation for unlawful possession of cannabis under 10 grams. Paul was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was given an I-Bond and a November Court date.

One Vehicle Accident

On 10/11/18 at 11:34 a.m. Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 8000 block of North Route 2, near the intersection with Ashelford Drive for a report of a one vehicle accident. Upon arrival and investigation at the scene, Deputies determined that a 2018 Hyundai driven by Kim L. Berg, age 49 of Byron, had left the roadway and struck a utility pole. Deputies learned that Berg had been traveling northbound on Route 2 when she lost control and entered the east ditch where her vehicle struck the utility pole and came to rest. Berg refused medical treatment from the Byron Ambulance at the scene. As a result of the damage to the pole, power lines fell into the roadway which caused the northbound lane of Route 2 between Luther Drive in Byron and Ashelford Drive north of Byron to be closed to traffic until 8:15 p.m. when Com Ed was able to replace the  pole and lines. Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Byron Police Department, the Byron Fire Department, the Byron Ambulance, and IDOT, who assisted with traffic control.

Predatory Criminal Sexual Abuse Arrest

On  10/9/18 at approx. 2:00 PM, Ogle County Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Robert A. Hardt, age 39 of Davis Junction, for Predatory Criminal Sexual Assault, a Class X Felony. The arrest stems from an investigation which began in September of 2018 in which Hardt is alleged to have sexual contact with a minor. Hardt was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held without bond. Hardt appeared in court on 10/10/18 and his bond was set at $250,000, 10% applies.

Warrant Arrest

On 10/08/18 Kaile M. Boney, age 25, of Byron was arrested for Driving while license suspended. Boney had a bond of $3,000 /10%. Boney did post the bond of $3,000/10. Boney will return to court on 10/26/18 at 9:00 am. Boney was released from the Ogle County Jail.

One Vehicle Accident

On October 6th, 2018, Deputies, along with Byron Fire/EMS personnel, responded to the 12000 block of Kennedy Hill Rd for a one vehicle accident. Both occupants were transported by Byron Ambulance to RMH for treatment of serious, but not life-threatening injuries. At the hospital, the driver of the vehicle, Mitchell A. Wessels, 33 of Sterling, was charged with Driving Under the Influence and Driving While License Suspended, and cited for Operating Uninsured Vehicle and Failure to Reduce Speed to Avoid an Accident. He was released in IBond. The passenger, Lucas W. Hopkins, 37, of Rockford, was cited for Failure to Wear Seatbelt and given a civil citation for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Aggravated Domestic Battery

On 10/7/2018 at approximately 1650 hours Ogle County deputies, along with Leaf River EMS were dispatched to 5779 West Townline Road in reference to a Domestic Problem. after an investigation it was learned that John Oltmanns, age 58 of Leaf River, had struck his wife, Julie Oltmanns with his vehicle. John Oltmanns was arrested for Aggravated Domestic Battery and transported to the jail and held in lieu of bond. Julie was transported for minor injuries.

Warrant Arrest

On 10/07/18 Alyssa Poff, age 26, of Ogle County was arrested for Failure to Appear. Poff had a bond of $416. Poff did post the bond of $416 and was released from the Ogle County jail.

On 10/06/18 Barbara Ballard, age 59, of Mt. Morris was arrested for Failure to Appear. Ballard had a bond of $1,981. Ballard recieved a recog for $1,000. Ballard was released from the Ogle County jail. Ballard will return to court on 10/29/18 at 9:00 am.

On 10/05/18 the following were arrested for Ogle County Outstanding Warrant:

  • Levi B. Lauritzen, age 26, of Polo for Failure to Appear. Lauritzen had a bond of $411. Lauritzen posted the bond for $411 and was released from the Ogle County Jail.
  • Nicholas A. Mendez, age 21, of Rochelle for Failure to Appear. Mendez had a bond of $1,508. Mendez did post the bond for $1,508 and was released from the Ogle County Jail.

On 10-04-18  Michael Uttecht, age 36, of Compton was arrested for Unlicensed. Uttecht had a bond of $5,000/10%. Uttecht did post the bond of $5,000/10%. Uttecht will return to court on 10-19-18 at 9:00 am. Uttecht was released from the Ogle County Jail.

On 10-03-18 the following were arrested for Oustanding Ogle County Warrants:

  • William Peyton, age 47, of Rockford for Failure to Appear. Peyton had a bond for $2,657. Peyton was given a $1,000 recog and will return to court on 03-25-19 at 9:00 am.
  • Paige Massey, age 20, of Elgin for Speeding. Massey has a bond of $3,000 /10%. Massey will go to court on 10-04-18 at 1:00pm. Massey will remain in the Ogle County Jail.

On 10-02-18 the following were arrested for outstanding Ogle County warrants:

  • Dwight JD Banks, age 24 of Clinton IA for Failure to Appear. Banks posted the $710 Full Cash Bond and was released with no further court date needed.
  • Donald R Long, age 39 of Rochelle for Failure to Appear. Long did not post the $8,963.41 Full Cash Bond and will appear in court on 10-03-19 at 1:00 pm.
  • Kevin Staten, age 29 of Rochelle for Failure to Appear. Staten did not post the $546 Full Cash Bond and will appear in court on 10-03-18 at 1:00 pm.

  • Michelle E Ware, age 35 of Rockford for Failure to Appear ($3,428 Full Cash) and Petition to Revoke ($1,500 10%). Ware remains in the Ogle County Jail and will appear in court on 10-02-18 at 1:00 pm.

Driving While License Revoked

On 10/01/2018 at approximately 11:51 AM Ogle County Sheriff’s Deputies performed a traffic stop in the 13900 block of West IL Route 72.  After investigation Deputies placed Ryan Hastings, age 32, of Freeport under arrest for Driving While Licensed Revoked.  Hastings was transported to the Ogle County Jail where he was held in lieu of bond.
