MOUNT CARROLL — Do you love rabbits? Learn how to handle, feed, groom and perform vet checks at the Carroll County 4-H Rabbit SPIN Club, open to 4-H’ers and non 4-H’ers 8-18 yrs old by Sept. 1, 2016. And owning a rabbit is not mandatory. We have rabbits that can use a temporary owner for showing at the fair.

The club will meet at the Wynia Home at 610 East Washington St. in Mount Carroll from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Meeting and show dates are: April 3, May 8, May 21 Rabbit Show in Belvidere, June 6, 26, July 10, 24, 31. Field trips to professional rabbit shows and breeders rabbitries are planned as well.

Learn what things are healthy and edible in your yard. Learn how to use their manure to grow healthy flowers and vegetables. Kids who choose meat pens will be guided on breeding, care and show. The club also has a scholarship program for new members if needed.
