After a threat was left in the boys’ restroom, at the school on Wednesday, and a note was sent home to parents around 9 p.m. on Wednesday evening, Forreston schools were in session today. Security has been increased, along with the Forreston Police Department and the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office being on site in the FJSHS building. The building has functioned under a soft lockdown all day today.

The letter states that around 2:20 p.m. Wednesday, spray paint was found in a boys’ bathroom, with a “general threat to school safety,” and subsequently reported to FJSHS Administration. The school alerted the Forreston Police Department , and an investigation is still underway.
