Local Football Players Invited To Illinois High School Shrine Game

Two local football players have been invited to the 45th Annual Illinois High School Shrine All Star Football Game. The game will be played on June 15th, 2019, at 11am on the campus of Illinois Wesleyan at Tucci Stadium. Forreston’s Offensive Lineman Mitch Heinz has been invited, as well as EPC’s Defensive Lineman Addison Keltner. Forreston’s head football coach is Kyle Zick, and Eastland’s Head Coach is Jarod McNutt. Congratulations, Mitch and Addison! What an honor to be invited to this prestigious game. The Illinois High School Football Coaches Association (IHSFCA) has released its All-State Football Teams in Class 1A through Class 8A for the 2018 season. The All-State teams are nominated by and voted on by IHSFCA member coaches, and the team members are honored by the IHSFCA prior to the IHSA Football State Championship games in their respective classes. NORTHWEST ILLINOIS — There were several area football teams that made it to Round 2 of the IHSA Playoffs, and a total of 4 area teams are progressing to the Quarterfinals. The Class 1A Milledgeville Missiles and Forreston Cardinals faced off in what proved to be an extremely competitive game that went into overtime.
