Friday, February 8th has some exciting regional contests happening in the world of Illinois High School Girls Basketball.

The Durand Regional includes the Durand Panthers and the Aquin Bulldogs in Durand at 7:15 p.m. The winner of this contest will play on Monday, February 11th at the Eastland Sectional in Lanark. The team which wins at the Galena Regional will play the winner of the Durand Regional.

The Galena Regional game is tonight, Friday, February 8th, at Galena High School, where East Dubuque will take on the Illinois Class 1A #4 ranked Eastland Cougars.

The first day of the IHSA Girls Basketball Sectional Contest will begin on Monday, February 11th. Game 1 will be at 7:00 p.m., at Eastland High School in Lanark, and will include the winner at both Durand and Galena Regionals.

Game 2 of the Sectional Contest will begin on Tuesday, February 12th at Eastland High School in Lanark, at 7 p.m. The teams playing will be the winner of the Stockton vs. Sterling Newman playoff game (at Stockton) and the winner of the Polo Regional, a contest between Dakota and Forreston (at Polo). Both games will be played the evening of Friday, February 8th at 7:00 p.m.

Game 3 of the Eastland Section will be the winners of Games 1 and 2, and will also be at Eastland. The game will take place on Thursday, February 14th at 7:00 p.m.
