• Cooking with Herbs, Oct 18, 2018-5:30 pm-Mt. Carroll Public Library

Join Master Gardener Nancy Gmitro at the Mt. Carroll Library for a lesson on herbs on October 18 at 5:30 p.m. Learn how to grow, harvest, and preserve the herbs sage and tarragon. • 4-H Quilting SPIN Club, Meets Monthly starting October 21, 2018- 2-4 pm, Naaman Diehl Auditorium, Mt. Carroll

A Quilting SPIN Club will start in October for ages 8-18 and run through April on Sunday afternoons from 2-4pm at Naaman Diehl Auditorium in Mt. Carroll.  Three levels of quilting will be available and class size is limited to 12 participants. Register by calling the Carroll County Extension Office at 815-244-9444. 

• Share Your Life Story: Chapter 4, Monday’s, Oct 22-Nov 26-1-2:30 pm-Post House Community Center, Dixon

Come out and enjoy the 2018 Fall Fest hosted at the Lee County Fairgrounds in Amboy and presented by the Lee County 4-H Federation on October 27 from 4-6pm. There will be hay rack rides, a pumpkin patch and games for all ages. There will be hot dogs, popcorn, hot chocolate and treats for everyone. The event is free and open to the public. Three-session seminar for long term care providers which include activity directors, recreation staff, social workers, administration, volunteers, and special education teachers to learn about providing therapeutic horticulture programming in their facilities and agencies. Youth Mental Health First Aid is an 8-hour course designed for adults who work with youth between the ages of 12-25.

• Kids & K-9’s, Select Saturday’s Starting November 17-9am & 10am- Granny Rose K-9 Enrichment Center, Dixon

This is a survey class that will introduce you to all facets of training including obedience, rally, agility, and conformation. It is also designed to help your dog become a more integral part of your family. Open to youth ages 8-18 beginning Saturday, November 17 and running select Saturday’s through April. Advanced Classes will begin at 9am and beginners will take place at 10am. The fee will be $25 for 4-H members and $45 for non-4-H members. Register online at go.illinois.edu/kidsk9
