This writing series for all abilities will explore how to get started in sharing your life story and will include writing sessions and activities. Previous writing experience is not required. This 2019 series is a continuation from previous Life Story Writing Workshops; new participants are welcome to join at any time. These workshops will be held on Mondays in Thomson and Mt. Spring Night Paint Night, April 11, 2019-6-8pm — Kidz Turn, Next to Whiteside Extension Office, Sterling
A spring night paint night will be sponsored by the Whiteside County Master Gardeners on Thursday, April 11 from 6-8 p.m. at KIDZ Turn in Sterling, IL. KIDZ turn is located at the intersection of Rt 30 and Lawrence Rd. right next to the University of Illinois Extension Office. Adult participants will create a 11x 17 spring night canvas painting. Spaces are limited to 20 so register by April 5 at go.illinois.edu/paintnight or by calling 815-632-3611. The supply fee for the class will be $20.

DIY Code and Build 4-H Club, T and TH, April 11-30- 4-5 pm-Lee County Extension Office, Amboy
The 4-H DIY Code and Build club is now accepting enrollment! Youth will learn how block-based coding works, build their own game, and create a controller to play the game. Dates include April 11, 16, 18, 23, 25, 30. Cost to join the DIY Code and Build club is the $20 yearly 4-H membership fee. Youth must be between the ages of 8 and 18 as of Sept 1, 2018 to join.

Hands-On Home Workshop, April 13, 2019-10 a.m.-Noon- Henry C Adams Memorial Library, Prophetstown
Come join University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners as they present the hands on home workshop creating remedies for natural home keeping. Stop by and visit each of the four natural remedies activity stations for your home and garden; make a natural hand scrub, natural bug spray, a seed tape, and a suet cake feeder for your feathered friends. Using a rain barrel can save you a significant amount of money, for each inch of rain that falls on 500 square feet of roof; you can collect 300 gallons of water. At this hands-on workshop participants are going to build and be shown how to maintain the rain barrel for years of service. Supply cost for this workshop is $25. Teaching children about the wonderful world of gardening through hands-on investigation of growing their own vegetables & flowers and learning to use the harvest. 4-H Camp is open to all youth, ages 8-14 by June 10, 2019. Campers do not have to be a 4-H member to attend 4-H Camp. STEAM up the summer with the University of Illinois Extension Super Summer STEAM program. The six-week program is for kids 8-12 featuring all new, hands-on, interactive learning activities focused on science, technology, engineering, art, agriculture, and math is coming to a location near you!
