For some reason I have gotten into a habit of writing the year as 2019. I don’t know if it is because the year has flown or I am just ready for it to be over! But there is still plenty of 2018 left.

Do you purchase from Schwan’s? If so, you can help us raise funds for the Carroll County Backpack program. Between now and November 6th, if you place your order ahead of time via calling Schwan’s or by ordering online and using fundraiser code 42419, Schwan’s will donate 20% of your purchase to the Carroll County Backpack program. To place the order by phone call 1-855-870-7208. You can also place your order online, which is what I do, by going to schwans-cares.com/c/42419.

Mark your calendar as Dr. Steve Johnson will be doing his fall marketing meeting on November 20th at the Days Inn in Rock Falls. The meeting will start at 7 p.m. More info will be coming as we get closer. The detailed agenda has not yet been released but I will share the info as soon as I see it.

Thank you for supporting our sponsors! They help us bring you the news.

Now that all the craziness of summer is over, I will be starting to work on all the projects and plans for 2019 and the 100th Anniversary of the Carroll County Farm Bureau. If you have any information on agriculture in Carroll County in the early 1900’s or any info on Farm Bureau, please let me know. I have no idea yet what the plan is for 2019 but we will be certainly working on many different things.

Baseball season for the Cubs’ has unfortunately ended.  Prior to the end of the season I had already received information in regards to purchasing tickets for next season for a group outing. In looking at dates and options, my question is would you prefer to go to Wrigley or Milwaukee? This past year I had some say they would prefer to go to Wrigley instead of Milwaukee so they didn’t book with us. While I know we had some who prefer Milwaukee. Personally, I know for me I love Wrigley. I think it goes back to as a kid going with my grandparents, the atmosphere and the whole love of the Cubs. However as someone who is in charge of a group, Miller Park guarantees I don’t have to worry about rain outs! I have luckily only had rain once in Chicago but it wasn’t exactly a fun experience!

So as we decide where and when we got in 2019, drop me an email or give us a call to let us know where you want to go! My email is carrollcfb@gmail.com.
