Thomson Board Approves Deficit Budget

BY MICHAEL MILLER For RiverReader.org THOMSON — The Thomson Village Board voted unanimously to approve a budget with a $99,000 deficit, at the board’s April 9 regular meeting. Board member Tyler Vandendooren said that the deficit number “may look big” but that the budget was actually pretty close to the previous year’s budget. In a separate agenda item, the board also approved having holiday pay, at a rate of 1.5 regular pay, for hourly city employees to be authorized by the department and the village president.
