Wilma Pauley, age 90, of Mt. Carroll, Illinois passed away Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Society, Mt. Carroll. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2018 at the Mt. Carroll Church of God. Burial will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Mt. Carroll Church of God. Memorials may be given in Wilma’s memory. Family and friends are invited to share in Wilma’s life at www.lawjonesfuneralhome.com. Wilma was born May 13, 1927, in Mt. Carroll, Illinois, the daughter of Glen and Mary (Zillhart) Edwards. She attended Lanark High School, graduating with the Class of 1945. On April 18, 1948, Wilma married Elmer Pauley. They celebrated 52 years of marriage until Elmer’s passing in 2000. Wilma was a gourmet and restaurant cook in the Mt. Carroll area for 37 years until retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Junior Women’s Club, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Mt. Carroll Church of God, and the Women’s Christian Service Club. Wilma loved serving her community by volunteering her time at the food pantry, and helping with mobile meals and food drives. In honor of veterans, she sold poppies every Memorial Day. Carroll, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at home surrounded by his loving family. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Masonic Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2018 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Savanna, Illinois, with military rites accorded by the Savanna VFW Post 2223. A visitation will be held from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. prior to the Masonic Service at the funeral home. Wilbur was born October 3, 1920 in Arenzville, IL, the eldest child of the late Albert and Ida Nicol. He graduated from Arenzville High School and attended 3 semesters at University of Illinois. He married Frances Wilson on December 8, 1940. She died on November 6, 1992. He later married Vivian Kromm on November 23, 1996. She died on October 29, 2014. Wilbur was drafted into the Navy during WWII. He had worked with his father in the Nicol Sand Co. at Arenzville and Savanna, IL, tried dairy farming for 6 years, then owned Shan Agra Service in Shannon for 35 years. Richard “Rich” Louis Loberg — October 12, 1948 – April 12, 2018 “There are some who bring a light so great to the world that even after they have gone the light remains.” – unknown Richard “Rich” Louis Loberg, age 69, of Pearl City, was called home by his Lord and Savior on April 12, 2018 after his courageous battle with Lymphoma. Born on October 12, 1948 to George and Valerie (Panks) Loberg, he attended Stockton High School and worked at various farms, Milwaukee Railroad, Micro Switch, and Coca-Cola. In his spare time, he was often found tearing apart his car, pursuing his passion of a better engine and a faster car. This self-taught skill would eventually mold him into an excellent mechanic. It was also during this time that he became acquainted with and won over his soon-to-be-wife. Despite his strong work ethic and skills with engines, all would be put on hold when he was called to serve our country in the U.S. Army. Dorothy was born on February 8, 1930 in Derinda, IL to Edward and Carrie (Heer) Ellinor. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Derinda. Graduated from Hanover High School in 1947. Dorothy worked at the Elizabeth Pharmacy and Schmidts Cafe. On October 22, 1950, she was united in marriage to Myron C. Eden. He died in 1998. They farmed many years on a dairy and hog farm northwest of Pearl City. In 1995 after retirement, they built a house in Pearl City. Dorothy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pearl City and was an active member in the women’s groups and Fellowship Club, often serving as an officer of these organizations. Cross, Nicole Cross, Sabrina Cross, Gerald (Brandi) Cross, Joseph (Heidi) Cross, Chad Cross, Nathan Cross, Nicholas Cross, Brianna Cross, Cody Cross, Jered Cross, and Taylor Cross; numerous great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 16, 2018, at the Chadwick First Lutheran Church. Burial will take place in Chadwick Cemetery.
