It’s Official: Schau New Lanark Treasurer

Will Begin Her Duties Friday at City Hall ABOVE: Erica Schau was sworn in as Lanark’s new city treasurer today by City Attorney Ed Mitchell at Lanark City Hall. Schau will be responsible for bank reconciliation, monthly closings, payroll liabilities including retirement payments, hospitalization, and child support payments. Evelyn V. Beattie — September 1, 1926 – January 26, 2018   Evelyn V. Beattie, 91, previously from Lanark, IL died January 26, 2018 at Heritage Manor in Bloomington, IL. She was born September 1, 1926, the daughter of Leslie and Alice (Reints) Stukenberg. On January 7, 1950, she married William G. Beattie. She worked at Kraft in Freeport and later Elkay Mfg. in Lanark where she retired after 21 years. She also assisted her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the Cherry Grove Church of the Brethren in Lanark. Charles Brock — April 27, 1930 – January 24, 2018 Charles Brock, age 87, of Thomson, Illinois, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Big Meadows. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson.  Private family burial of ashes will take place at a later date in the Lower York Cemetery, Thomson, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 prior to the service at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to the Thomson American Legion or the York Community Church. Liena A. Hamilton — June 1, 1924 – January 21, 2018 Liena A. Hamilton, age 93, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2018 at home in Savanna with her loving family by her side. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at the Community United Church of Christ, Savanna.  A visitation will be held prior to the service in Elliott Hall next to the Church, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:45 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018.
