Ruth Kramer Richards

Ruth Kramer Richards — December 11, 1924 – December 25, 2017 Ruth Kramer Richards, 93, of Forreston, died Monday December 25, 2017 at DeKalb Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born December 11, 1924 in Centralia, IL, the daughter of James and Fannie (Bryan) Richards. She married Emmet Kramer October 14, 1942 in Kirksville, MO; he died in January of 1974. Ruth and her husband farmed the family farm in Ogle County until their retirement in 1973. She was a member of North Grove Evangelical Church. Ruth loved cats, and enjoyed decorating cakes and crocheting. Ruth is survived by her three daughters, Pam (Wayne) Hayenga of Bryan, TX, Donna (Dennis) Hall of Kingston, IL, and Debra (Phil) Paulsen of Genoa, IL; her brother, Donald Richards of Lyndon, IL; her sister, Jeanette Willis of Lyndon, IL; five grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Hayenga, Matthew Hayenga, Mark Hayenga, Mitchell(Aishwarya Nagajaran) Hayenga, and Bradley(fiancée Alyssa Hurst) Paulsen; and three great-grandchildren, Ethan Hayenga, Lauren Hayenga, and Leela Ruth Hayenga. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brother, Ernest Richards; her sister, Marie Zurlinden; and her granddaughter, Kimberly Hayenga. There will be a time of visitation for family and friends from 1:00 p.m. -3:00 p.m. Tuesday January 2, 2018 at Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home in Forreston. Hallie Newman Boelter — September 16, 1939 – December 17, 2017 Mrs. Hallie Newman Boelter passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 in Jacksonville, Florida. Hallie was born September 16, 1939 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She was the widow of Dr Otto H. Boelter MD of Forreston; she resided in Forreston and Freeport following his death. Daniel C. Frisbie — June 3, 1949 – December 17, 2017 Daniel C. Frisbie, 68, of Freeport, died Sunday, December 17, 2017. He was born June 3, 1949 in Freeport, IL, the son of Charles and Janet (Tavenner) Frisbie. He married Cheri Feldman April 11, 1997 in Las Vegas, NV. Daniel was a 1967 graduate of Shannon High School and a 1972 graduate of Western Illinois University. He owned and operated Frisbie Upholstery. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and the Eagles Club. He loved spending time working in his hostas garden, with grandkids and watching them play sports, and spending time with friends. He loved animals, golfing, and crosswords. Daniel is survived by his wife Cheri Frisbie of Freeport, Il; children, Jessa (Nathan) Ovitt, Heather (Tony) Collalti, Brandi (Marty) Sellers, Jason (Karen) Feldman, and Josh (Stephanie) Feldman; grandchildren, Caleb and Brooklyn Sellers, Kyle, Kane, Ty, and Gage Collalti, Finley Feldman, and Kiah, Laney, and Jonas Ovitt; brother, Don (Jeannie) Frisbie of Shannon, IL; mother-in-law Violet Fredericks; sister-in-law Melodie (Jim) Dewall; and two nephews Ryan (Carey) Frisbie, and Luke Frisbie. Marlene L. Gaul — May 24, 1958 – December 17, 2017 Marlene L. Gaul, 78, of Polo, died Sunday, December 17, 2017 in her home. Marlene was born June 3, 1939 in Forreston, the daughter of Simon and Gladys (Ebright) Weegens. She married Robert Gaul on May 24, 1958 in Forreston. She was a member of Faith Discovery Church in Polo. Marlene enjoyed spending her free time cooking, raising horses, and baby sitting her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband, Robert Gaul of Polo; son, Randy Gaul of Polo; daughter, Vickie (Doug) Wiersema of Chadwick; three sisters, Barbara Gilbert, Ethel (Robert) Hudson and Carol Fishman all of Tucson, Arizona. Also surviving are four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Marlene was preceded in death by her son, Robert; brother, Richard Weegens; and sister, Phyllis Weegens. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday December 22, 2017 at Faith Discovery Church (801 W. Oregon St. Polo, Illinois). Rev. Daniel Wiersema will officiate. Florence E. Rohr — November 6, 1919 – December 26, 2017 Florence E. Rohr age 98, of Thomson, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Mercy Living Center North in Clinton, Iowa. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Thomson. Burial will take place in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. A visitation will be held from 11:00 – 12:00 noon p.m., on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Law-Jones Funeral Home in Thomson. Florence was born November 6, 1919, in Grand Mound, Iowa, the daughter of James and Nellie (Shawver) Henzen. Florence married Wayne E. Rohr on February 22, 1941 in Clinton. Wayne passed away April 3, 2004. Florence worked for a Photographic Studio, as a Photo Finisher in Clinton. Florence enjoyed knitting, crocheting, reading and working cross-word puzzles.
